Seaside stroll

This was day three of my holiday.  Once again I could not go past the perfect contrasting shades of black and white.  I know it is Summer, and I am meant to be wearing bright colours, but I have a constant lust for the darker fabrics of fall.

I was captivated by the incredible colour of the water.  I wish I could live in such a beautiful location.  There is just something beautiful and peaceful about seaside towns.

I will hopefully be uploading some photos from my holiday now that I am back home in my own comfy bed.

Ice in Summer

Today as it has been incredibly hot of late, my friends and I went ice-skating.  Apologies about the photo quality, I only had my phone with me.

Floral braids

It has been incredibly raining of late, but I managed to run out in a spot of sunshine to take these photos.  My hair is curly and goes crazy when it's rainy, so I opted of an up style to hide the craziness a little.

I also became a little distracted at the end.

Healthy Holiday Tips

In Australia it is currently Summer therefore it is our main time of year to venture out on lovely holidays.  This will include me very soon :D  When you are on holidays it sometimes becomes very hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  Therefore I thought I would give you a couple of ideas of how to be healthy on holidays.
  1. Pack the clothes that you would normally exercise in at home.  This is an incredibly simple idea, but trying to do squats in skinny jeans in never comfortable.  This will also help you feel as is if nothing has changed and you are simply exercising in your normal space.
  2. Use a yoga mat.  A yoga mat may take may take a bit of extra space, but the comfort will be worth it.
  3. Make sure you bring headphones.  I am one of those people that always seems to lose their headphone around the time they travel.  Being able to listen to music will ensure once again this will also help you feel as is if nothing has changed and you are simply exercising in your normal space.
  4. Exercise at the start of the day.  Holidays can be incredibly busy or incredibly relaxing.  Either way exercising at the start of the day will ensure that you get it out of the way and you have time to complete all of your other exciting holiday activities.  This will also give your body a metabolism boost.
  5. Track the food that you are eating.  You probably just read that thinking, you can’t be serious.  I am completely serious.  This will honestly help you stick to your healthy holiday regime.  A really simple way that I do this is by using the free app MyNewDiary.  You can track the food that you’ve eaten simply by a barcode or searching the listed foods, track your exercise, how much water you’ve had and your weight.  Trying this tip may take a few extra minutes out of your day, but it will be worth it.
  6. Bring a skipping rope.  Using a skipping rope is an excellent form of cardio and it’s just a small item to fit in your suitcase.
  7. Bring dumbbells.  If you can’t pack these fill up water bottles and use them.  If you need some ideas of ways you can use them take a look at this video.
  8. Always have a healthy snack food with you.  For example banana chips, almonds, dried apple, whatever takes your fancy.  Make sure that it is something that you will actually eat so you aren’t running off to buy an ice-cream instead.
  9. Drink heaps of water.  Simple.
  10. Start the day off with a healthy breakfast.  Starting the day off healthy will help you metabolism and give you the best chance to continue being healthy throughout the day.
  11. Bring vitamins.  When on holidays you can become rather tired and therefore you immune system does not always cope as well.  Taking vitamins will help you immune system and let you enjoy your holiday.

Today's buys

I went shopping today with the intention of not spending much.  However this is of course physically impossible.  I made some incredibly cute purchases.
Firstly I went to Colette.  I've been searching for the perfect bag for a rather long time.  I am really loving winged to totes at the moment, which is exactly what I found.

I also became rather excited, because the bag it came was rather large.
Next I bought these shoes from Cotton On (Rubi Shoes).  The outer fabric of the shoes is incredibly soft.

Next is a basic shift dress also from Cotton On.  I wasn't expecting this style of dress to suit me, because I generally associate shift dresses with tiny framed tall girls.  But to my complete surprise it actually suited me.  This dress will be perfect with lighter contrasting accessories to create a lovely Summer look.

This definitely my favourite purchase for the day.  It's a really light chiffon/suffle material so I will be able to wear in Summer and also in Winter under a knitted jumper.  I love the leather detailing on the shoulders and on the trim of the pocket.

This blouse also has incredibly cute cuffs.  I cannot wait for a chance to wear it.  This buttoned blouse will also work well with black leather shorts, black skater skirt and black skinny jeans.

Lastly is another button up shirt for Summer. White blouses work well with black to create contrast or bright colours to complete the Summery look.

Fabulous Darling

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone is having a wonderful new year so far. This year my resolution is to be fabulous. When I say fabulous I mean taking things to a whole new level. According to the dictionary fabulous means extraordinary. So this year I am going to work incredibly hard and finally do all those things I’ve not previously had the courage to do. Expect ootds, music, clothes made by me and vlogs.
In the last week of last year I bought this bracelet from Lovisa.

The bangle says “Dream Live the life you have imagined”.  Wearing this bracelet is basically my reminder to make my new year’s resolution happen.  It also has a really cool twist rather than your usual bangle shape.

Sorry I can’t remember the correct name for that kind of twist.  Unfortunately Lovisa no longer has any more of these online as they were just stocked for Christmas.  However there may be a couple left in store.  I’m pretty sure this one from Not on the high street is exactly the same.
Would love to know what everyone else’s new year resolutions are.
